Summer Plans?
Summer Plans?
coming up (and school ending tomorrow), now might be the time for
some letterboxing-related discussion.
What are your summer letterboxing plans? Will you be planting or
finding? And where?

For me, summer means the kids are out of school and if I go
letterboxing, it's with them. So with the heat & humidity, we try
for shorter walks and more drive-by boxes. I try to plant some
puzzle boxes (to provide some challenge in lieu of a longer walk),
and I'll be working on my Hermann Park series.
We'll be heading to Austin for a weekend and Fort Worth for a weekend
(to see the Star Wars exhibit)...both those places have had an
explosion of boxes to find! Just trying to decide which ones is a
major deal!
And at the end of July, we'll head for cooler climes and go camping
in the Smoky Mountains and then to the beach in South Carolina. We
hope to find boxes on the way there and back, but mainly we just hike
and relax while on our big summer break.

Re: Summer Plans?
We are not planning to go out of state this summer but, will be
doing a lot of in state traveling. Planning to hunt around the
coast and a little bit in the Hill country. I really want to plant
several this summer. We will be in Fayette and La Vaca county in
June. Planning to plant a few in Schulendurg, it is a great town
and my family from there. Sometime we will travel to Jacksonville,
for a little camping and ATV action at Mud Creek, my husband and
kid's choice. Austin and Ozona seem to be in the plans too. We do
alot of fishing, so I am working on a Texas saltwater fish series to
plant near the coast. So it looks like a summer full of
Letterboxing!
Happy Hunting!

RE: [gulfcoastletterboxers] Summer Plans?
Summertime! For some reason getting up early for swim team practice is easier than getting up for school! And with most of the kid-oriented volunteering over for the school year we are looking forward to hitting a few trails and maybe doing some urban letterboxing.
I am putting together a carving kit to take to swim meets so that I might be able to make a few letterboxes ready for planting this summer.
We’ll be spending time in the Hill Country and the Davis Mountains so expect a few boxes to be planted out that way. I’m heading to Oregon for a backpacking trip and hope to take a few mini boxes to be planted out there as well. Since I do not name state or national parks as hiding places and instead make these locations mystery boxes, you guys might have an extra hint as to location. J Maybe I’ll try to get creative like dewberry and make some fun puzzle, too.
